Week 12
As you read this, youtube is processing our Video. Aubrey, Steve and I made a movie about Portion Distortion. For those of you who don't know what that is, basically it is how the portion sizes in America have changed over the years!
So... stay tuned! It's pretty epic.

Week 11
My story board is finished and now I just have to start filming (and finding time to make it...) I am excited about the topic I am going to teach in the film- portion distortion. If you don't know exactly just what it is, just wait, and you soon will :)

Week 10
My syllabus is now on my website! It took a little bit to figure out how to get it onto the website. Thankfully I have an amazing 15 year old brother who is the bomb.com when it comes to figuring things out on the computer, and he was able to talk me through the whole thing {aren't brothers the greatest?}
Anyway, I haven't started filming anything yet for my multimedia project. I am still trying to formulate ideas and figure out what I want to do it on. {oh and taking a bazillion midterms... will they ever end?}
That is about it! Check out the website, and come back next week for updates!

Week 8... I think?
I have been working on my class website, and it is still in the "under construction" phase!!! I don't know why, but sometimes technology hates me I think. Hopefully I will be able to figure it out this week, and it will be up for view!
So, I guess hold on tight, and we'll see if I can figure it out.
Wish me luck!

Somebody to Love (Remix)- Copyright?
This video viloates a few copyrights issues. It doesn't say anything about where they got the rights, or where all the videos are from. It doesn't give credit to Disney for video clips or music.
Good Copy right- Evolution of Dance
This video is called the Evolution of Dance. It is one of the most popular videos on YouTube. This video follows all guidelines of copyright from what I can tell. Each song is played for less than 30 seconds. It is really interesting to see how much dance has changed.
Week 7
Alright well, this week here are the happenings for our IP&T class:
I finally figured out the Copyright assignment, and yes I am sorry it is up on the blog so late. But here are a few interesting things I found out,
There are Four reasons that you need to make sure you are complying with as a teacher when it comes to copyright:
- What is the Purpose and Character of the use?
- What is the nature of the work- if it was made to be sold to schools, you better not copy it.
- Amount and Substance of the work.
- What is the effect on the market going to be?
With that learned, Here are a few videos I found thanks to YouTube: They are posted above.

Week 6
Welcome to Week Six (aka. Midterms are starting week!)
So... news. I finally got my Screen Shot!!! It was super easy once I figured it out, it just took me FOREVER to figure out- go figure!

I went home this weekend for Conference, and so I had a nice discussion about internet safety with my parents and younger brother who is turning 16. He is the only one at home and so, I feel like my parents have laxed up a lot when it comes to internet/ technology usage since I was his age.
Actually, they have. When I was 16, my family didn't have the internet. Yes that is right in 2005 my parents refused to have the internet at our house. I was technology deprived- which is the reason I contribute to being technological deprived now. But, as we talked, my parents cracked down a bit on rules that used to be enforced, and now are going to be again. Because honestly, it is for the safety of everyone!
I LOVED the talk given by Larry Lawrence in the Sunday Morning Session of Conference about Parenting Teenagers. It does take courage. You go Parents.

Week 5
I can't believe that we have already been in school for five weeks! I still feel like I am in denial that school has started, but the papers and tests are coming this week, so I had better get out of that mind set ASAP! Any suggestions?
Well, I have been doing the copyright assignment that is due this class, and I will be making a post about it a little bit later, because the computer I am on is not letting me do anything technology advanced! (I really don' t understand my problem with it this past week.)
So, stay tuned for the COPYRIGHT BLOG post!!!

Week 4
Hey Class,
So I found an awesome blog for all of you Health Ed Majors- I know all three or four of us!
Check it out! It has tons and tons of article links to help with any topic that we have to teach about.
Okay… so the link isn’t working. I’m not sure why, because I am doing everything it says to. Well, check out this blog, and maybe the link will show up later!
http://www.healthline.com/blogs/teen_health/ (it’s awesome) Also, I was able to get a screen shot of this website so that you can see it, and I moved it into word, and now I have absolutely no idea how to get it to appear on this blog.
Can I just say that I am having a super technology hard week?!?
Also, the other day I figured out the RSS. I am now part of google reader, though I am still slightly confused about technology!
well, in the end, I hope to someday learn all about technology and how to use it to improve my life as well as my students- though, they will so know more than me.

Week 3
Hello Everyone!
I love what we learned in class last week, and I am going to try it out! Wish me luck!
Week 1/ Week 2
Hello Everyone!
This is the first real post on this blog! I am excited to share with you all of the fun things that I have learned in my last four years of Health Education. I really have a strong love for this subject, and I hope to share that love with you through this blog, so, here we go!!
For the first post, I just want to share an interesting fact with you. This comes from the Nutrition and Exercise category: Did You Know That! - to burn off the calories you consume in ONE plain chocolate m&m, you would need to walk the distance of a football field? (yes, that is one hundred yards!)
FYI
So, the past few weeks have been so insane when it comes to the technology I own (my computer of the past four years decided to crash and burn... such a sad day). But I am getting a new computer, which will take some getting used to, and until then I am privileged to use the computers on campus :) So, I decided that since everything was going wrong, and I still am trying to figure out wordpress, I am moving my blog over here to blogger. SO, follow me here to see what is going on with these great assignments!
